Mdl 70 year made.

I am considering off loading an early Mdl 70 Winchester I have. I just want to have as much information as possible. Can the time of production be gleaned from the serial number. I don't have any books covering this model.

SN 6147. Any help appreciated. Thanks

  Per Roger Rule's book #5750 was made 4/3/37 and #6875 was made 5/1/37.
