Just picked up a beautiful Antique Colt 30 caliber New Model revolver. Blue is like new BUT the hand spring is broken.
Does anyone know where I could get this repaired ?
Thanks

added I was thinking you had a revolver like in fig. 15 about 4 pages down in the article. A real gunsmith could make/fit a hand spring. Lot's easier if you have the pieces or a picture, pocket watch/clock flat spring is good starting stock.
Perhaps you could post a pic of your pistol. Is it a rim or center fire cartridge?0 -
Thanks Charlie for the great article about derringers.
Gun Parts corp does not list this model at all.
Il keep trying0 -
I don't know what "Antique Colt 30 caliber New Model revolver" I'm thinking open top or a cap and ball? VTI might. They get parts from Uberti and Uberti makes the parts off old Colt tooling. So if Uberti makes that particular gun then the part needed will be close. 0 -
Probably a Colt New Line. This was a solid frame revolver with a bird's head butt and a distinctive large circle on the left side.
Sorry, can't help on the hand. May have to make one or possibly modify another to work.0
