These are indeed good reference books.
Charlie Petty's is the best researched and has the fewest errors. Charlie's gives a good over view but some details like Quantities produced are off - some pretty far off like the model H-D which he lists as 6,900 and the real count is closer to 700 or the U.S.A Model H-D which he lists as 44,000 while the real number is closer to 34,000.
Jim Spacek's book is not as good and has little original content with much being reprints of manuals and other factory literature. It does bring this information together in one place.
I personally know both authors and both have moved on from collecting High Standards.0
