    They put it in somehow, so I'd guess it will come out. I'd look at clock/pocket watch for spring stock. Adhesive might be a choice or staking/swedging the new one in place. Perhaps a wedge, it will be hard to cut such a thin slot. You might be able to rust out the old one.

    I would plan on fixing it well enough to shoot. If you are just going to look at it, then it doesn't matter if it works or not IMHO.

    Black Powder residue is very hygroscopic. I wouldn't be surprised if the leaf spring is rusted in place. From many years of use.

    Take the hand out, and soak it in Kroil for a couple of days. Than gently try tapping the leaf spring. If that doesn't work? Try a propane torch with a needle flame. As a last resort.
