Remington 11-48 vs. 11-87

    If none of our folks can help. You might consider, going to the Gun Parts Corp, web site. To see if any of the part numbers, are duplicated for both shotguns.

    That said. It's doubtful to me. The 11-48 is a recoil operated mechanism dating to the 40's. The 11-87 is gas operated from the 80's.

    I'm sure the various shells will interchange between the different models, but:

    The 11-48 was manufactured between 1948 and 1968

    The 11-87 is the current production Remington Semi-auto. These were introduced in 1987.

    It is doubtful that any parts interchange.

    Thanks for the prompt, accurate responses guys! The two guns operate completely different and don't share anything. I will post pictures in general discussion some time in the next few months of my complete restoration of an 11-48 receiver.
