HSc reassembly problem

Newly purchased (On GunBroker ) an Interarmco HSc that had fail to feed issues. Took it apart to inspect and clean but can't get the slide back on. The part identified as the "Magazine safety" hits the back of the slide stopping the installation of the slide. I've tried various solutions including inserting the magazine and pulling the trigger. Nothing worked. Any help would be appreciated.

    It been awhile since I owned a HSc. Also it was from W W II. Not one of the post war pistols.

    With the pistol disassembled. Try depressing the takedown latch in the trigger guard. See if that moves the mag safety that is attached to the right side of the frame.

    Also the manual safety on the slide, has to be in the safe mode. During reassembly. With hammer cocked.

    The slide in reassembly, has to be pushed down and than back. To properly engage with the frame.
