Ruger SR 556 Flash Hider
What's the best way to remove it without phuckin it up. There's no flats to grab on with a wrench and I don't want to try the big screw driver between the slots.

The screwdriver through slots ends up creasing the flats, good to avoid.
Not sure of the size, but an Allen screwdriver inserted "male to female" will turn it out.0 -
I think it is a T60 size TORX that it was made to fit. I'll have to look. 0 -
Don't use the upper for leverage in the process. Clamp the barrel in a vise using a piece of 3/4" heater hose for padding/traction. 0 -

The spade bit is a nice thought based on the shape. Staying out of the crown would be a good decision though.
I use a strap wrench when an actual steel tool isn't available.

These have a rubber strap which will grip a little better but there are cloth straps also.
