Winchester 62 Octagon Barrel?

The only place I have found reference to a model 62 with a octagon barrel, is in the Blue Book of gun values. I don't put a lot of stock in blue book when it comes to serial numbers, dates and so forth. Has anyone ever really seen one, or any pictures of one that Winchester made? I have never even seen one on the auction side for sale that I recall.

  I have never seen or ever read any reference to an octagon barrel Model 62 rifle. It MUST have been an error in Blue Book.

  Winchester did make a small number of Model 62 rifles with octagon barrels, specifically for the UK market. If you find one, it should have British proof marks on it.

  And I stand corrected. Going back and rereading Schwing's Vol II reference there were indeed "a small number" of Model 62 rifles outfitted with OB and sold to shooting galleries in England. Thanks Bert.
