Weaver L46 Scope Base

I was mounting a scope on my Savage Model 10 today and found that I needed a front base extension. I tried a Weaver #402 but it intruded into the ejection port a little too much for my liking. I checked my go-to box and found a Weaver #L46 and tried that. Worked like a charm. Curious as to this particular base, I checked the Weaver Base Chart and it does not appear anywhere on it. An internet search provided no joy. Does anyone have any information on this base?

  I used Weaver scope bases #45 and #46 for a small ring Mauser 98 receiver. So I'm guessing that a #46L might be for a "Large" ring Mauser 98 receiver until someone who really knows their Weaver scope bases replies - hahahha.

  fixed it for you [;)].......small ring is 46 & 55.......never heard of a 46l
