what rifle fore end is this
I could not successfully load a pic from a host site so I cheated and made a listing. I sell enough so I don't feel I'm abusing anything.
Anyway it was in my late dad's stuff Overall length is around 17 1/2

That's a tough one! Kinda' has a look of a Browning BAR type rifle forearm. Those guns were chambered in large calibers. But your forearm is not an exact match to the "picture books" I'm looking at. 0 -
BAR was my first thought too, but they attach to the barrel with a screw from the bottom. I've looked at about every single shot forearm I can think of, and can't find any with that long bolt that would attach it to the receiver.
The long recess on the bottom rear, says it's probably a clip fed of some kind, but I'll be damned if I can find what one.
If and when you find out, do post it.0 -

Well what took you so long?[:)]
A German name was in the back of my head, so I searched all the HK rifles, and then started on the Merkel rifles. Found the Merkel Helix and came back here to post it. Sauer, should have figured.0 -
Thanks he had a Sauer 202 that I sold years ago after he passed. Multiple barrels etc Wonder if the other barrels took a different fore end 0
