    Sounds like it's cut down for a commander clone. Pic's would help.

    high standard built under contract 1911 barrels during WWII and later very ease to shorten one to go in a 1911 with a shorter SLIDE and FRAME

    There were many items built under Military Contract for Government model 1911/A1 pistols during WW II It would be easy easy to cut down length to fit a pistol with shorter slide frame

    Is it a "bull barrel"? One of my Detonics Scoremaster has a "sleeve" to flair out the mid point of the barrel to the muzzle. Didn't know they did such things to "regular" barrel 1911s.
