did frankford arsenal make 6.5 round in 1904
i have two catridges that have .268 bullets,about 2.00 case and a .474 rim. one is marked umc 12-06 and the other fa 3-04.first research is showing nothing u.s close to this.frankford arsenal should of been making krag ammo at this time.if any one knows what calliber these are i would be greatful.

30-03 forerunner of the 30-06 was around. I suspect you have brass modified to one of the many 6.5 from that time frame, plus a bunch of wildcats. Somewhere I have some experimental stuff from a guy that worked at the Frankfort arsenal. 0 -
Agree, UMC and FA sound like .30-03 sized down to a wildcat or foreign caliber. The only thing I can find even close is 6.5 Kurz Mauser but that is a 54mm case, 2.1" not 2.0. 0 -
Your case dimensions will work for the Japanese 6.5 Arisaka. The bullet is about ..005, to large in diameter though. The only bullet even close, is the 6.5 Italian Carcano.
I never was aware that any of our ammo manufacturers, made ammo for the 6.5 Arisaka rifle? At that early date.0 -
