1949 Browning A5 stock ??

should the stocks on a 1949 Browning A5 shotgun have a semi gloss finish on it (looks like old varnish) or a oiled wood finish (no gloss)?

  That's a really interesting question. I think it was a lacquer finish back then.

  Hand rubbed varnish, gloss, up through the 1950's.
