Why do some marlin model 120 40 inch barrels have MXR on them and some do not?

    No clue but using up left over parts, the stamp broke or got lost for a while "The Model 120 slide action shotgun was made from 1971 until 1985. However, the MXR with the 40" barrel was produced only in 1974 and 1975."
