Ruger 77 Mark ll stock question

I ordered a Ruger 77 Mark ll short action stock to refinish and resell He states it as Mark ll but it has a red butt pad, so question is, did they make Mark ll's with a red pad TIA

  YES! They did make the early MK II's with a red butt pad.

  I don't believe they did. In fact I think it's the opposite and the last of the 77's had black pads as the MkII was coming out. As always with Ruger though , never say never.

  Refinishing to original new condition, will knock the value to 1/2.
