Some time back I looked at a new china 37. Crude was the first thought that came to mind. No thank you.

I looked over one a few years ago and it was rough. Parts "seem" brittle. But if that's what you want, I surely would think they show up here time to time. Keep looking.

Yea, I know, worthless post for what you wanted but.

I got a well used one for very little a few years ago. It needed a good cleaning but after that it worked fine. I wish I still had it.

I get that some men feel a little inadequate, but do you really want a shotgun called "dong"? [}:)]

OK seriously, Mossberg (Mexican) Maverick costs $200, its perfectly fine, its compatible with other Mossberg parts, and has a good warranty. If you want a cheapie, I think that will get you covered.

I sold a few of those while I was "in the business". Unsatisfactory is a nice way to describe those. Ended up sending two of 5 back for replacement. Tinkered with one myself to make it functional. The other two probably spent the last 20 years behind a farmer's back door-unfired.

I was looking at one and tempted to buy it but the store clerk told me not to bother.

It has been my experience that other than Soviet designed arms (AK, SKS, Tokarev pistol) the Chinese do not make any firearms worth buying.
