DIFFERENCE IN MAG DRUMS

we have 2 drums mags. Do not know if it is M16/14 OR mini 14.
Is there any difference?

  Probably best way to differentiate, would be how they lock into the rifle.
  
  AR's have a rectangular hole in the mag body, that the locking latch of the rifle fits in. Mini has metal extension on the spine of the mag, that the locking latch interfaces with. To hold the mag in position.
