If you are just going to look at it either should do fine. Given the choice of a shooter I'd take the stainless Vaquero in 45 Colt, but I rather have something with adjustable sights. As a reloader I'd rather have the 454 Casull with the larger rim. With 45 Colt rounds/loads it would last forever.

I have only known 2 people that actually shoot 357's. Most folks just shoot 38 Specials in them. For me if I'm putting up with all that muzzle blast and recoil, then I'm shooting my 44 Mags.0 -
Ruger, and I shoot .357. .44 mag has too much recoil for comfortable shooting for me.
Nothing wrong with Uberti, but Ruger exceeds mil spec.0 -
Okay 45lc Ruger.
5.5 or 4.62. Do shooters prefer one length over the other?0 -

5.5 in. is a good compromise for carry, sight radius (accurate shooting), and velocity (power).
4.6 in. is best for carry and quick action but less sight radius (harder to shoot accurately). Your choice.0 -
If you happen to stumble upon an old Vaquero, do not hesitate. It is as strong as the Blackhawk, and a little heavier built. Basically a Blackhawk with fixed sights. 0 -
I have three old model Vaquero's in 44 magnum. Two stainless with 5 1/2" and one blue with 4 5/8" barrel. The 5 1/2" are muzzle heavy which is why I bought a 4 5/8".
Since they are old model they are heavier than the current model Vaquero's.0 -
I had an old model Bisley Vaquero 5.5in case colored/blued in 44mag.
Would like to get a SS single action with less punch.
As an investment I hope to eventually acquire an early 2nd gen Colt.0 -
For less kick Vaqueros have be issued in .327 Federal among other lighter calibers, and don't over look the Single Six if you want a single action plinker. 0 -
i have 5 old models 44/45/357 0
