Do you have a pic of the end that fits in the gun? Look in perhaps old catalogs for mail order firearms or museums that have pictures on line. Looks like a aftermarket sharps or other schutzen type firearm.

This is the best of the photos. For identification purposes, that you have posted. Went through my books looking for a monogram in a diamond. Couldn't find anything similar. The letters appear to be MAYBE ? "C", "S" and "A".

The letters cast into the buttplate are probably the name of the company: S C A O (not in any order). The solid stock (no cut-outs for action parts) suggests a single shot. A and C could stand for Arms Co.

I have tried every combination of letters. The SACO seems like it would use the S as a first letter but not sure. Sharps Arms Co., Spencer Arms Co., etc.
The 7th photo shows the front as it mounts to the gun chamber, but I can't find one that looks the same with the tangs in the same location.

Standard Arms Company, Wilmington DE. Dating to the early years of the 20th Century. Limited production of semi-auto and pump rifles chambered for the same cartridges used in Remington semi-auto Model 8 rifle.
