I have had very good luck with star magazines made by triple k

    For A and B and super B and pre-A and F models

But it's been about 20 years since I bought one for one of my personal guns.

Have the supply of oem star mags dried up since then???

I have both 9mm luger and 9mm largo star 'supers' the magazines are the same and work with either cartridge

The difference in length between 19 & 23 mm. Is 5/32 of a inch. No way a magazine specifically made for 9 X 19, is going to work. With a cartridge that is 5/32, longer in overall length.

    Other way around, is also questionable to me? I.E. A 9 X 19 feeding through a 9 X 23 mag reliably?

"I.E. A 9 X 19 feeding through a 9 X 23 mag reliably?"................rufe, they work fine in mine. I have 8 magazines and they interchange fine between 3 pistols. I did have 1 9mm luger in the original box with 2 magazines that matched the other magazines I have.

I have a bunch of Colt 1911 magazines. Both in 9 mm and .38 Super. Both are the same externally. But the 9 mm mag, has an internal spacer at the back. To make up that 5/32 difference in length.

Because of this. Colt obviously didn't feel that all types of 9mm would reliably feed from the 38 Super mag. FMJ military ammo, probably feed OK? Questionable, soft point ammo with a flat nose or blunt H-P's would be reliable.

Star Super Bs were only made in 9mmP.
If the gun is a 9mmlargo, it is either a Super A or just a Super.
Any Star "B" model is in 9mmP only.
The only difference in the magazines is that the parabellum magazines have longer feed lips. Many people use largo mags for 9mmP quite successfully.

Appreciate all responses. I have always appreciated the quality of the older Star pistols, plus many can still be found at shows and in pawn shops for less than $300.

With todays era of CC, The PDs in 45 and the BMs in 9mm were ahead of their times.

After reading posts, I am certain my problem is with the newly manufactured magazines. Tried swapping A and B super mags and they do fit. However, I have not fired the gun. The 5/32 gap would seem to be a concern, but if something works...
