My only guess is that it is a Spanish Calvary. Any info and value would be much appreciated.

I like your guess. Looks like a grape vine. It is short like a horse gun and looks to have some sort of saddle horn hanging hardware. Any stamping in the metal or wood? 0 -
Doubt if it is any sort of a military issue. Unless the original markings have been removed. At the very minimum, military arms usually have lockplate and breech markings.
What is the bore diameter? Is the barrel smooth bored or rifled? What's the barrels length?
One of our mods, Spider. Is very knowledgeable about antique guns. He might have some insight. Or refer you to someone in the antique gun community who would know.0 -
