Kel-Tec

I went to buy the .32 Kel-tec today and they also had the .380. I thought it was a much bigger pistol and was pleasantly suprised that although it was heavier and held one less round, it was very close to the same size.
Is there bad about the .380 version? Anything else I should know about? I think I've looked at all the very small "deep-conceal" pistols (Seecamp, NAA, Augusta, Beretta, etc) and the Kel-tec seems to be the smallest, lightest, and most inexpensive of them and has a good reputation.
P.S. This gun will be for situations where clothing or situation doesn't permit my normal carry gun. Any gun is better than none...

Send it to Keltec. They have great customer service.

    Read the owner's manual.

Only use 40/45 gr ammo. It recommends specific brands.

I tried both clips......40 grain Winchester....it almost like the ammo gets jammed in the mags and won't feed correctly after 10 or 11 rounds inserted.....tried the tapping on the back thing....gonna continue to play with it....

I've owned one, for over 3 years. Have over 2,000 documented rounds through it. It shoots everything, even the ammo, that KelTec doesn't recommend. Very fussy, as accuracy is concerned though. Ammo it doesn't like, shoots shotgun groups. With much keyholing. Preferred ammo like CCI 30 grain, ultra fast H-P's. It loves. Very accurate, perfect function. Deadly on bunnies.

Mine functions flawlessly with CCI, hates Winchester. Won't run 5 rounds in a row with them. Does about 95%+ with Hornady.

So have you deburred the follower and the inside of the magazine?

If I may; when loading the mag, ensure that the rims are at the rear of the magazine, and in front of the round below.
Tapping the mag against your hand periodically will help a lot.
Of the 6 PMR-30s and 4 Grendels I've owned since the early 90s; I've only had feeding problems with a PMR-30 when I mistakenly inserted a Grendel mag.
Both pistols like hotter ammo with 30-45gr bullets, stock up on recoil buffers for the PMR.

i have used Triflow teflon lube on rimfires...clean, soak wet with it(even magazine) let it dry and wipe down...micro encapsulated teflon have heard the clip had problems...i finally got a RIA Armscor XT-22M pistol...maybe first one in kansas after waiting about 3 years...when it warms up i will give it a trial...had the XT-22lr for several years and it is a great pistol
