I've been restocking up on 5.56 over the past 6 months. Buying 500rds of FMJ 55gr commie ammo every month from SG Ammo.

Watching the above video, going to start stocking up on commie 55gr Soft Point.

  May I ask what you are shooting it through?
  
  I have a lot of steel case .30 Carbine for plinking. I've heard/been told that it is hard on extractors.

  Using it in my 2 PSA AR15 pistols.
  
  I also have a Windham 16 inch carbine which has only had brass case through it.

  "steel case" ammo doesn't have to be inferior
  I have one AR set up to shoot Hornady's Steel Match ammo and it's well within "informal practice" parameters. In fact, it's running in the 3/4" group size from a basement build with a 6x hunting scope. "Softest" shooting AR I own but the ammo is the dirtiest stuff I've ever shot.
  Years ago (before the big AR fad) my family gave me an AR upper for my birthday. They had no idea it was made by one of the worst reputation AR cobblers on the market but it was the thought that counts, right. Maybe it was the only good upper those guys assembled or ?? but I shot a bunch of steel case European ammo through it and it was a topnotch performer all the way. Seems to me the older EURO production was better quality than current.

  I like Commie ammo. Years ago I bought a case of Chinese 9mm. Gold colored ammo. Works great.
  Also bought a case of SKS ammo. Commies may not be able to put a loaf of bread on the shelves of the grocery store, but they make good guns and ammo.

  Cheap steel case ammo has always worked well for me for plinking and function testing. If it is hard on extractors I have never seen it. I wonder if there is evidence of this or if it is just rumor.
  
  While anything can break and everything will break with enough use, I have many thousands of rounds of the steel case stuff through a couple ARs and have never seen any problems. Using basic Toolcraft Black Nitride BCGs with whatever extractor they come with.
