A Move On petition started by Elizabeth Rowin is calling for the stretch of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets to be renamed "President Barack H. Obama Avenue."

The petition would require President Trump to formally change the address of his Trump Tower building, where his 2020 reelection campaign will be headquartered on the 15th floor.

The measure had nearly 4,300 signatures as of Friday morning.

"We request the New York City Mayor and City Council do the same by renaming a block of Fifth Avenue after the former president who saved our nation from the Great Recession, achieved too many other accomplishments to list, and whose two terms in office were completely scandal free," the petition states.

A stretch of a freeway in Los Angeles was recently renamed after the former commander in chief.

For the street to be renamed, the New York City Council would have to approve the measure and Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) would have to sign-off on the name change.

The council unanimously voted last month to rename a street after the renowned hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan as well as others after rap star Notorious B.I.G. (born Christopher Wallace), signer Woody Guthrie and poet Audre Lorde.

    I was watching the news ans saw that Gates said its against international law the way the captured soldier. Are you kidding me? Do they think that they will be trated the same way we treat out prisoners? They dont care about laws its their country, its the US of A that is the stupid one that follows the rules in war. When the government realizes that the best way to end a war is to take the gloves off and go balls out it will end. I really thought the this government knew that since we were attacked. This is how I see things. we are over there in war. Since we are a invading power take no prisoners, kill most and leave a few to tell the rest what happened. Why should we care about people that dont care about us and want to kill us? If we would stop trying to play Mr. nice guy and make everyone happy it would go alot quicker. This country needs to take care of its own first and formost. Have they forgot that? If the government officals cant understand that then they need to be taken out of office, since it is not this country that is their first and most important agenda. If they wont leave then they should be removed by force. I have alot of friend that are still in the military and I am sick of them comming home in boxes because people cant get the intrests right. War is not pretty, was is not to make friends, war will only end when the enemy has lost the will to fight. What will it take for the governmnet to see this.

    BTW this is genneral dicussion!

    I think Trump is too influential in New York for this to happen... But then I could be wrong

    if they want to put Obama's name on something on 5th avenue, they should rename this building[}:)]
