Sounds very good Ken!
Tonight, it is St. Patrick's Day redux! With the cold, blowing snow going on outdoors, we are having corned beef and cabbage with all of the traditional fixings!
Monday leftovers will just have to include a Jewish guy named Ruben!![:p]0 -
LOVE Corned Beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and onions.
Reuben's, are awesome. (Mouth watering.)
Sounds very good Brother. [:D]0 -
Made chicken curry yesterday [:p][:p][:p]. The Russet potatoes melted away as I wanted them to. Come to think of it most of the white and the Yukon did as well. I saw some carrots but they got smaller from the tumbling. It was good yesterday but I know it'll be better today [:p][:p][:p].
I used 3 breast meat and a couple of leg quarters. I can choke down breast meat since there's plenty of sauce but to my surprise they didn't dry out too much. Threw in some extra hot 2 table spoon (maybe 3?) of cayenne and a table spoon of Shichimi (Japanese 7 spice "shichi" is 7 in Japo). Found at a bigger Japo market they carried the Shichimi in a bag unlike in those small glass shakers so I can splurge. I think the small glass shaker holds two table spoons max?
I better marinade the couple of leg quarters I got in the reefer. Maybe I should freeze them since real meat is rare in my house [:D]. Foster Farms whole chicken were running for .88 cents a pound. I remember not too long ago the sale price was .67 cents a pound. Damn peta and cage free crap. I want to taste my chicken full of cruelty. No I kid I just want them cheap.0 -
Heck Yosh! Are you sure about using 2 or 3 TABLE SPOONS of hot cayenne in your pot!![:0] Sounds mighty hot for this spice timid sufferer of GERD![|)]
On a side note, ended up having my Rueben sandwich for breakfast this morning.[:)]
Eggs just didn't sound good and oatmeal.....[|)]
With the savory scent of last nights corned beef still lingering in the air this morning, it just seemed sooooo natural to indulge with some really tasty bagged sauerkraut from the fridge atop toasted Jewish rye![:p]0 -
