Scope Rings
I have 5 model 44 stevens rifles that are drilled and tapped for target scope blocks .My tired old eyes need more help than the 438 Lyman scopes that I have mounted on them . Does anyone make 1 inch rings that will fit target scope blocks ?? I don't want the barrels to look like swiss cheese plus I have more than enough 3-9's in my inventory . Regards , 637e .

Anything steel. No aluminum. Other than that it won't matter.
Leupold dual dovetail is nice, so is Warne, Burris Zee rings on steel Weaver style bases, etc.0 -
Putting my vote in for Warne Optimas. Unless it's going on an AR, where I use almost exclusively American Defense, I use them solely as they are concentric as heck AND the best bang for the buck I can find. I use only permanently attachable rings as I am a little Leary of lever lock types. I avoid wind age adjustable Leupolds like the plague. I have seen numerous Windage types fail, particularly when up past 30-06 recoil levels. 0 -

Added: also, unless easy access to the top of the bolt for single feeds is required, I try to use a one piece base, normally EGW. Probably not much of a gain, but I have always felt that set up provides a bit more stiffness across the open action area. Two piece bases will also work fine, just my personal preference .0 -
Dual dovetail. 0 -
WARNE, or DUAL DOVETAIL 0 -
If your scope base is true, then, my preference would be the Burris Tactical XTR. They will need no lapping, if the base is true.
The other rings mentioned, are great rings, and are mule strong. However, they will need to be checked and lapped, for a proper mounting.

Im a big fan of the dual dovetail set up with Burris Signature rings. I have other set ups on hunting rifles but everything for quite a few years now gets the Burris rings. Try em and guarantee you'll like them. 0 -
Burris Signature if you are planning on using the factory bases, DNZ Game Reaper if your going to replace the bases. 0 -
Another vote for Burris Signature rings and dual dovetail bases. 0 -
