New Project ( Hobby ) ? Antenna ???

OK :

Kind of strange : But I always have enjoyed making things & doing different things to do ( just busy type fun stuff ) ? Early in the year I started researching & building different types of OTA (digital free tv ) antennas : after a bunch of trial & errors I have come up with a design that is simple , cheap , durable : I get 62 channels with this design : Yes 62 Free Digital Channels ! Then I sold a few , now a few more ? Now Ive got to go get more supplies & build more , Got several sold to be ready by this weekend ??? @ $25.00 each .....

Who would have thought ???

    Anything like Danny Hodges on YouTube? I followed his design somewhat and made one from what I had around and got 52 channels. Amazing, I have never been able to get more than 4-5 OTA channels here. Had Dish, Direct TV and then cable which I just cancelled. It works so well sitting on the ground I'm planning on building a better one and put it higher. I guess it's the digital change and the fact that cable companies have to broadcast some signals. But it's amazing what a simple antenna can pick up. I even had a rotating antenna once and still got almost nothing.

    What are you building yours from? My first is merely a 1x2 with bent copper "whiskers" wired to a matching transformer and hooked to the wiring that was from my dish. Works great.

    If not for losing Fox News channel I'd be joining you, that is the only reason I stay on cable.

    That is a lot of channels but isn't it mostly ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and Fox over the air? I find that most of the extra channels I can get with a taller antenna tend to be the same version but Orangeburg or other broadcast areas close to Charleston.

    Danny has some great ideas : But the one I make is really simple & cheap & easy to build : Its a version of the 'beer can' "T" antenna design ??? I can build one for less than $ 10.00 ( I sell them for $ 25.00 ) : They work great !

    I get channels I never heard of. Stadium, Grit, Comet, Charge, and others I did not know of other than on cable, like HSN and QVC and MeTV. Local stations now have 3-4 extra channels and there are a few that repeat on higher channel numbers. But many more than I ever thought possible OTA. The last search I did totaled 52 channels.
    We also have Hulu, Amazon Firestick and Netflix for those extras like Fox news, and movies. More than I want really but keeps everyone busy.

    Nope : Not at all trying to Make disguised For Sale ads : Besides , I couldnt figure out a way to ship one of these silly things ???

    Yes we get channels that Ive Never heard of : some are really good : Grit for one example ....
