What a nice evening.

Got home about 3:30ish. My routine is to let the dog (Buddy) out of his crate, hook him to his dog trolley lead out front, come back inside, get him some treats, a bowl of water and a beer for me - then join him out front, on the glider on the front deck.

Sun is usually intense at that time of day out front. (Faces West.) Stayed out front for about an hour with him, letting him run the yard and explore. Trees all around, shaded areas abundant. We then usually (I ask him "Want to go out back?") We retire to the back deck.

Ground slopes away from the back of my house. My large deck has another cable run for him. It is at the 2nd story level. With the ground sloping away, the large (1 acre spring fed, trout stocked pond) is probably 3-4 stories below us, approx. 75-100' away. Trees all around us.

Got on the laptop, checking out GBGD, chilled out relaxing. Installed an update on the laptop. [:D] Fed the dog. We've both been checking out the views. It's beautiful out back. (Wish I could post photos.) I finally removed my work boots. My dog decided (as usual) he needed to lick my feet. (Tickles.) We then resorted to foot fighting, with me trying not to let him bite my bare feet. [:0][B)] Legs in the jeans still okay. (He is a lovable NUT.)

Very peaceful out here. I'm way rural. Out in the Country. Very quiet. Can shoot off the back deck, and do on a regular basis. My Home range. (Floating leaves at 150-200'.)

Bullfrogs and Peepers going nuts. It sounds like you are deep in the Swamp. Super relaxing. [:D]

Had a couple frosty adult beverages, spending quality time with the Dog, chilling outside, enjoying the view. Checking out GBGD on my tablet. Life is good. I hope you all are enjoying your evening. I am. [:D]

    I heard you Brother. I just stepped to my next door neighbors /Buddy's house through the woods from me. He just got back from his 3rd trip to PA. in 2 weeks. (Took this trip up with a co-worker to rescue a dog. [:D] Anyway, he is calling me through the woods to come over. He has another case of Fresh Portabella's for me. (3rd full case of fresh mushrooms in 2-2 1/2 weeks.

    We're talking about his friend up North's Brother that showed up at a Family reunion, then could not be reached on the phone for the next couple days. (You guessed it. I started relaying how I had a couple close Army Buddies I had lost contact with over the years, and tracked down (unfortunately through their Obituaries.)

    Heart attacks out of the Blue. Younger than me, no Heart issues. I'm older, with Heart issues. (Makes you think.) I just walked back to my house, picked up my tablet and saw your post. My Buddy and I were just saying, "You never know."

    Enjoy every day you can Brothers. You never know.

    Coolest evening we have had in about 2-3 weeks. Supposed to be around 57* this evening. Had heavy rains again this afternoon/evening. Same for last week and a half or so. Been close to/or above 90* for a while now. Work has been brutal. Humid and hot.

    I am looking forward to sleeping with the windows open tonight.

    Absolutely LOVE spending the evening quietly outside. (4.5 hours now.)

    Thoroughly enjoyable and peaceful.

    spent all the afternoon testing fire hydrants for flow ratings for my fire dept .Came home and cleaned out truck to go to lowes to pick up a load of lumber for a remodel job. finally got to eat supper at about 7:30 or so still need to grab a shower before bedtime .Did I mention I got soaked when I got home to wrap the lumber up in a tarp cause we are expecting heavy rains tonight ?

    I'd be enjoying pan fried trout for breakfast on a regular basis![:)]

    When I moved from my old family homestead a couple years ago, I left the beautiful Grand Traverse Bay views and close fishing opportunities for a different kind of pleasant scenery.

    I now enjoy some amazing woodland sunrises and sunsets viewed from a high hilltop. So peaceful and quiet, with the occasional sounds of an Amish horse cart clippity clopping down the lower meandering dirt road. Far, Far, away from the rat race of mankind![^]

    Too many trees to cast from the deck. Pond belongs to my Buddy. It's stocked with over 350 Brown and Rainbow trout. Throwing bread in results in a feeding frenzy. Older guy (friend of my Buddy) fishing it from the bank last couple days. Using "Red Wigglers," said he was pulling one in with every cast.

    Pond is very hidden. It is a neighborhood secret. Not open to everybody. Invite/permission only, and "Don't talk about it."

    Your set up sounds pretty nice also.
