How much are you paying per kilowatt hour?
I'm paying right at 10 cents per kilowatt hour. S.C. is supposed to be on the high side. Post where you are from and how much you pay for your power. I'm curious as to the differences from around the country.

5.2 cents but that is a false measurement. The added costs of Distribution and various other fees are the real cost for electrical service. My bill was $105 for June. The new air conditioning system really is helping to keep costs down by about 30%. 0 -
Taking the kWh used and dividing it into total charges I come up with around .0075/kWh. 0 -

Usual bill is less than $90.00/month.
No A/C required (usually). Have small window unit for 6-10 days/yr.0 -

I pay 9.34 cents...When the house was built in 1980 it came with two Westinghouse 2.5 ton units. Terribly inefficient hot part of the summer monthly bill was 350 to 400 dollars/mo.
The WH units crapped out after about 16 years and I went to 12 SEER Rheem units with 3 ton condensers, the monthly summer time bills went down to around 260/mo.
The Rheem units were still working fine but the condensers sprung some leaks, installed new Trane 16 SEER units with variable speed blowers because the new condensers wouldn't work with the old units...now my summer time bills run about 140 to 160/mo.
In addition when LED bulbs came out I switched out all the old bulbs with the new LED bulbs...this alone reduced my monthly electric bills by about 30 dollars/mo.
Texas summers can be brutal from July through mid September and I keep the temps in the house between 73-75 degrees. I have to believe that the lower bills are largely due to the variable speed blowers.0 -

I'm really bad at math. Used 1911 KWH and was charged $178. Total bill was $215 with taxes and fees. $37 seems like a lot of fees. 0 -

Average around 0.13/kwh, but add on another penny for "gathering, distribution and billing".
No stuff; they charge for BILLING![:(!]

But : for our 'security lite' : bill was $21.72 @ 6 kwh ??? Guess that figures out to apx. 3.? ????
