I have never used ground meat in Stroganoff I always use cut up round steak.

Portabella mushrooms are very good. I like the big ones, clean out the lungs with a spoon, season with a little salt and pepper, then marinate in some EVOO and Reduced Balsamic Vin with fig juice.

Put on grill and melt provolone cheese inside it.

I was thinking of doing potatoes stroganoff, decided to go with bowties in order to extend it. (Work lunches.) Edited a couple times when I remembered things I put in but forgot about.

Never tried bay leaves in Stroganoff Barz. Not something I typically have in the cupboard, although I do use it on occasion. Sounds like a good addition, as well as the strong wine.

Thanks for the contribution Forrest. [:0][B)][:D][}:)]

I've read that a couple times now, related to my cooking posts. Don't you Heathens ever watch any Cooking shows? [^][}:)]

    Sigh..............................................

Hey Ricci, EVOO is short for Hoppes #9. Give it a try. [:D]

Darn you Ken, I just about had myself satisfied with marinated boneless pork chops on the grill, steamed zucchini and sliced tomatoes from my dad?s garden and you had to come along with that menu! Now I may need to rethink tonight?s supper.

One or two came off the vine this morning Ken, most are still small and green here too.
Burgers on the grill are tomorrow?s supper here too Sam. I feed my dad most every evening and, at 89, he only wants to eat ?light? at supper time. (Still works 6 days a week though.)

That is one of my very favorite things. I cheat though and just add a pack of that McCormick stroganoff stuff to ground beef. (I'm lazy) [:D]

Thanks for contributing Kasey. I thought maybe your loss of hair inhibited you from posting. [:0][B)][:D][}:)]

I will admit it. My base is Hamburger Helper, plus a lot of additional ingredients/help. There, I've said it.

    Flame on........................................................

You don't even have to use the Hamburger Helper to really cheat. In the same section that they have the gravy and other packets they have Stroganoff packs.....you just add your noodles and hamburger to it. I'm not a big fan of the H Helper noodles. Sour Cream is key! [:D]

Yeah, boy......................!! As are all the added ingredients. Just a starting point/base. At $1.00/box on sale, you can not beat them. (Always as a base.) I've got (ahem) a few, in my cupboard. [:D]

Venison stroganoff, cool the cut up venison with woostershire and garlic salt with onions, baby Bella's, fresh garlic, mushroom soup and sour cream. Cooked on a cast iron skillet is the how I make it here.

    Maybe next weekend...

I've got fresh Portabellas coming out my ears. Struggling to come up with ideas.

I believe I will end up thin slicing, and dehydrating a bunch, in order to save them.

Hearty Seafood Chowder is next on the to do menu. Lots of cream and butter, a ton of fine diced Portabella's, fine diced Russet potatoes/ onions, several variety packs of frozen mixed seafood. (Clams, mussels, crab, flounder, shrimp, etc. etc.) Added at the very end. A strong shot of white wine completes it. [:D]

A good Seafood Chowder is in my top 5, favorite things to eat. [:D]
