    Thanks for the post. That was my main job in the Army. Photographer. (Hence my 84Bravo moniker.) Secondary was NBC.

    I work with Recruiters and when I ask them for their MOS they always use 84B etc.

    Being a Navy guy and being used to rates like EM or MM which describe your job I always have to ask them what they do.

    Jungle Training in the Philippines, Almost got to go there for the training. But a Surprise inspection came up and they canceled my orders.

    I Volunteered and requested Jungle Training about 4-5 times. They finally told me, they would not send an Individual, only a Unit.

    This after they (the Army) requested that I attend an Advanced Officers and NCO level NBC school, after I had been in a couple/3 years. (I aquirred Honor Graduate.) [As every Military school I attended.]

    I attempted/requested to go to any school/course they would send me to.


    Sigh.

    From the Marine Side I actually handled the school seats when I was on Okinawa. These seats were for Individuals most of them were Helo Pilots.

    One of my best friends (if not the best.) Was walking through my store with his fatigue Jkt. on. Not only Airborne Ranger, (2/75th) but Jungle school patch. I called him over. We were good to go after that.

    Ken I went to to Jungle Warfare school in Panama at least 10 times. I was also stationed in Panama for 5 years, some of the best times in the Army I ever had.

    What you were told is correct you go through as a unit and the smallest unit is a Company. When i was stationed there we were the OPFORE several times. I would like up with buddies that were there training and get smashed.

    I went to Thailand and went through their Jungle training too.

    I must say I like the Jungle, its a tough environment and it weeds out the weak fairly fast[;)]


    I also went to NBC school in I Corps. I was a Speedy 4 and made Dist HG too over a bunch of officers.......But that was expected of me[;)] My Plt SGT sent me there because I broke my wrist and wasn't good for anything for a few weeks, I remember he told me you better be an honor grad even though your Infantry when he found out I was DHG he said good job, now get out of my face[:D]

    I was honored to have that MOS/Job for 5 years. I photographed some amazing things. (I was DHG for my MOS school.) At that time, all Services attended the same school at Lowry AFB, CO. [Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, etc.]

    I saw and documented an amazing array of situations. It was amazing to have participated in that. An incredible MOS.

    I was known as the best of the best, in my field. Won a multitude of both Military and Civilian awards. I was requested by name for more situations, and experiences than I can name.

    I was NCOIC for my highly Classified Photo Lab and assigned Photographers under my command. It was ac good time in my life.
