Won my first Locust Fork auction tonight

My daughter is in a play in a neighboring town, at practice last about 3hrs so I'm sitting here perusing auctions. I don't actively look for any sellers auctions but one of my saved searches brings up a bunch of her auction s when I run it on Sundays so I'm actually surprised this is the first one I've won. Check it out, love old Winchesters and I think this one went a ways under the money.

    I'm glad you won it. That auction had 70 watchers, so I thought it would have gotten more bids at the end!

    I sent Barry an email when I saw that. Barry said it had a tag on it that said 32-40, so I pulled it and checked.....sure enough it did, but it was still wrong. I put something in the listing to correct that. We have some 32-40 ammo coming up later.

    I won on of Kasey's auction today. Wasn't watching, just happened to check emails and one from Kasey was there. Nice Walther 9mm.

    Condition issues not withstanding it's a $1000.00 gun all day unless the bore is a sewer pipe...

    Muzzle crown looks okay - but I no nothing of the condition of the inside of the BBL

    I wonder about the stock shrinkage since the wood finish appears original to me

    The screws add character and I like the survivor finish

    A tang sight would be a wonderful addition

    .32-20 wcf is an astounding and fun cartridge with light recoil and often target rifle accuracy - ammo marked "HV" will be high velocity carbine and rifle only with higher pressures than standard ammo meant for pistols and long guns - the rifles love such ammo

    Well found and well bought - IMHO

    I am sure you know your stuff - but if I may...

    If the bore is dark or frosty (I have bought many that way) the best product is blue wonder paste in a tube - you slather it on a copper brush (slightly oversized is best) I mean really lay it on...

    Run it up and down the bore half a dozen times - run two dry patches - close the action - add some more product to the brush and slowly go in and out once - leave sit over night

    Run tight heavy patches through several times till they come out clean in the morning

    Later The next day use a copper brush and some hoppes #9 and patches like normal

    Than repeat after you have fired it a few times and you may be amazed at the improvement

    Invented by Ken novum (a forum member many moons ago) and bench tested with pre production samples by me and others here before being sold off to a bigger corporate fish

    I swear by it - I use it professionally and personally - though out of the original case of 12 Ken sent I only have 3 left

    Can you tell us why you bought the gun and what you like about it and what you collect or admire / covet???

    I've won a few LF auctions myself...in fact I pick up the Win 70 7mm Rem Mag tomorrow (Damn CA 10-day waiting period [V])

    Win or lose, Kasey always does the auctions right.
