day at the range

Had a fun day taking a few of my wifes friends out shooting. They are hooked and all talking over what guns to get. [:D]

    Friend and I went to visit my dad and shoot at his backyard (50 yd) range. Friend brought his new (to him, but used) 10/22 w/ 3x9 scope.

    I played w/ my Anschutz 54 Match and didn't out shoot the 10/22 w/ irons. It might be time to scope the 54. Blast these old (58yo) eyes.

    3/4 inch group @ 50 yards. Ruger had a trigger like pulling on a fence post. 1.5 MOA is better than I thought it could do.

    Yes, I know I bought some ammo for a .380 less than a week ago.[:D]

    But the 380 that I would like to buy would be a pocket 380, something like a Ruger LCP... But the LCP is kind of Snappy....

    Pick up a Ruger MKIV , put a red dot on it. They will be all over you to go shooting.
    I've taught women to shoot for about 30 years now & have found if recoil bothers them to start out don't give them anything but a 22 for quite a while.
    She will love you for it

    I recently bought a Bersa with 2 mags from the auction side gun, shipping,receiving, was less than 2 bills. I bought it just to train youngins on a semi-auto platform. It has double action to single action, decocker, last round slide lock, 2 mags to practice mag changes, about everything your going to run into on most semi-autos. Seemed a good buy for the purpose.

    Bersa .380 for sure. A great gun for the beginner.

    Another plug for the Bersa Thunder .380. (Mine is a Duo-tone.) After shooting my Brothers at the range many years ago. I was loving it. He offered to sell it to me. It came home with me.

    An awesome carry piece. Perfect ergonomics, IMHO.

    "2 Bills," for that set up, is a very, very good deal.
