Back in 1967 when this old girl was made it was probably considered a low end rifle but today to get a gun of this quality would cost thousands and thousands of dollars. I am talking about Viniswhalla money of course cause a loaf of bread cost about five thousand dollars I hear.[:0][:0]

That is a nice ol' rifle in great shape. Usually the hardware store guns had a rough life hidden behind a door in the chicken house or something.
I have a Western Field Model 45 (I think) .22 bolt action magazine-fed repeater. It is in average shape but is missing the magazine and had a broken firing pin. The firing pin I made, but the magazine is priced at more than I gave for the rifle. So I use it as a single shot. Like all the old Mossbergs, it is very accurate.
I threw a bid on the Sig 226, but it was nothing X-treme!0 -

Ricci, that is a beautiful little Mossy! Good luck on the auction. Have about a dozen of the older Mossberg 22s, and they are a delight.
Kannoner- If you have a Westernfield 45, think that crosses to a Mossberg 42. havlinsales.com has mags for the 42A at $38. Vic and Cheryl Havlin are THE "go-to" people for anything Mossberg, and really nice folks to deal with.0 -
