TV Western
Watching season one of The Guns of Will Sonnett(I have the whole series on dvd). Walter Brennan was a great character actor and there are some great guest stars. This episode I am watching as I type this has Royal Dano, Jack Elam,and Jack Nicholson all together filmed October 1967.

I was just a kid when I watched it memories are very faint about it other then I liked it
I tried to watch it a few months back but it would not "stream " plan on trying again

When I was growing up we only had 2 TV stations that were available. A 3rd station had burned down and we did not get to watch a few good westerns that were aired.
Today, on ME TV I have been catching up on a show that I missed back when it was on. Steve McQueen in Wanted Dead Or Alive!! That cut down rifle he carries like a pistol is pretty cool![:)]0 -

Jack Elam was the best supporting actor of them all. That wild eye of his was unforgettable. 0 -
Yup! Ole Jack Elam was an icon. There is another fella that I have seen a slew of in these old westerns. Never recognized him until very recently. Dabbs Greer. He played Reverend Alden in Little House on the Prairie and was the aged Tom Hanks character in the movie "The Green Mile"
He was a regular in just about every western TV show back in the 50's and 60's playing different parts.

I've always wanted a mare's leg... Your production company got a hefty fine over that rifle... I guess it wasn't registered as a NFA firearm and they did not have the tax stamp for it with a federal government0 -
When I reread my post about Jack Elam being an "icon", it wasn't meant to be a pun.[:D] But it got a chuckle out of me on the second reading.[:0]
Jerry, I agree with you about Arthur Hunnycutt! I always enjoyed him in any show he was in! My favorite was I believe to have been in an episode of the Twilight Zone where he and his dog, while out chasing game, went over a cliff and died. (they may have drowned but my memory is blank)
The first place they came upon in the here-after was a fancy gated city where the guard told him he was welcomed to come on in, but he had to leave his dog behind.
Arthur just couldn't leave his best friend and opted not to enter that place. Walking along further, he came upon another place that was much more country like and had a plain gate leading into another city. Being welcomed at the gate, he was told that both he and his dog were OK to come in. Welcome to Heaven, that place down the road that wouldn't let in your dog was Hell![:0]0
