When I was a kid, I remember being at the doctor's office to get an immunization shot. One of my dad's friends was there also and he happened to be a professional clown. He kept pointing at the syringe and making funny jokes. Ever since then I have no problems with needles. I've been taking allergy shots on a biweekly basis and my son gives them to me (since he was 10). Barely feel the needle. I find it really funny to see these big burly men cringe at the sight of a needle.
Now, big ugly spiders on the other hand...0 -
Never used to have any until I was best man at my brother's wedding. And when I stood up to do the toast at the dinner afterwards, I started off by thanking my brother Todd and my new sister-in-law Terry for allowing me to be the best man, and I ended up calling my new sister-in-law Diane,did I mention my new sister-in-law's name is Terry?... Diane was My brothers ex fiance name just before Terry... I knew my enormous screw up right away, but never missed a beat and finish the toast...
Sadlyeverybody caught it, there was about 200 people there, and ever since I have a fear of public speaking...
Now Terry thought it was funny and didn't mind at all, in fact she came up to me and gave me a big hug and kiss on the cheek, and said that was the highlight of the day, but ever since then I cannot get up and speak in public0 -
A few, snakes, needles, tight spaces and confinement. If my feet get tangled in the blankets I panic, if someone bear hugs me I panic. But my worst one is crowds, put me in certain crowds and I panic and need to run. Was in the mall last weekend, could not breathe and had to leave in a hurry, this all started after Iraq. 0 -

I had just the opposite happen to me!
The Nurse giving the shots gave a Baby a shot to show everyone it didn't hurt. She started moving the needle around just under the baby's skin, again to show it didn't hurt!
I was afraid of needles all the way up to the time I had to get my first blood draw. I told the male nurse that I was going to pass out and he said, "So, this is the place to do it"! I never even felt the needle go in and was never afraid of them again.0 -

I agree. My older Brother rolled me up in a big carpet and sat on me one time. (A$$-Whole.) I get claustraphobic if I can not breath well.
Have a recurrent nightmare/fear of being tied up/restrained, with my mouth being taped up. My nose has been broken multiple times in a variety of ways. It passes very little O2, maybe 20-30% of what it should. I would die a slow death.
Last night my nose was pretty much closed down. I had to get up out of bed multiple times and walk around. Was way claustrophobic. Almost just got up and called it a night it was so bad.
Prayed for relief, looked at the clock and saw it was 3:16. (A sign.) Took a bit, but I went back to sleep.
I've had my Mitral valve totally rebuilt. (11 hour surgery.) My body, up until I was 43ish, was constantly O2 starved. It really freaks me out to feel I am not getting enough O2.0 -
high places . I worked construction 13 years when younger . I could not count the times I was afraid of falling some days you could not have driven a toot pick in my bung hole with a sledge hammer I was so tense
iron workers use to give me grief when I would crawl or slide along a I beam ( red iron to most )
confined spaces I was the go to guy if I fit I was shipped in never bothered me ( lucky )
I guess the fear of being burned to death trapped in a car or house is one I have also0 -
Needles also. The doctor tried to put me on insulin several months ago but as long as I still had pills I didn't use it. Now my pills are gone & I have been trying since the 24th. Bad enough to get a shot much less have to do it yourself.
Fear of heights unless I am strapped in. Had no problem flying light planes, gliders, ultra-lights & hang gliders. I went on a balloon ride once & wound up crouching down in the basket & was terrified the whole time.0 -
I guess my only one is dying by fire,, As a young man I helped clear a house where this had happened,,My Youngest son has a good one,,He is a strapping 27 year old,,rides Motorcycles,,shoots,fishes just an all around country young man,,,HAS A DEATHLY FEAR OF FROGS,, I have on more than one occasion seen him walk up on one in the woods hunting and shoot it with a 12ga.. I mean this boy has a real fear,, you would have to see him to understand how bad 0 -
