Bitter sweet
Sold the old family farmett last Friday. Literally a hundred years of memories. The young couple who bought it are truly excited about the work ahead of them. It was too much for me to keep up with living over an hour away and plus I am writing a new chapter in my life. Have a great gal who also has a family that has welcomed me with open arms. Might even be a wedding in the near future[:)]

My grandfather lost the family farm at the onset of the Great Depression. He had borrowed a few hundred dollars from the bank to start a new crop of potato's. Forced to move into town and rent a place for several years before he was able to buy a small home nearby.
My moms side of the family kept the big farm going since the early 1880's up until my cousin sold the place a couple of years ago.
The new owners turned the old house into a bed and breakfast after putting a small fortune into the structure. They sold off most of the acreage surrounding it and I'm pretty sure they made out $$ very well with all of the changes.0
