    I have Brass, the original trigger and safety, Load data I used and some bullets.


    BTW I always thought of it as my Hemingway gun[;)]

    I just talked to him, he is a little messed up from doing Molly and MD 2020 while listening to Cat Stevens but he is ready if you need him.

    I especially like the stock work.

    I had a Leupold VX-2 3.5x10 on it.

    I am telling you this gun shoots like a house on fire. I really hate selling it but I don't hunt anymore(personnel choice) but this was my goto hunting rifle for big Game.

    Rich and I used to hunt all over WA, ID and MT.

    I built the gun with his help from parts his Dad Joe had in the shop. This was an old Gun and Machine shop from the 50's if you have been in one you know the deal.

    I was a Varmint hunter but Rich wanted to go moose hunting in NE Wa and had a tag. I had no gun for that kind of hunting so we spent a few weekends building this gun.

    I really hate to sell it but I have no one to leave it to and since I don't hunt it has languished in the safe for 20 years. It needs to get out and hunt.

    I have Clarks Custom Gun in LA put the Recoil pad on it. Its a really good one with the hard part on the top so it doesn't get wonkey sitting in a safe.

    No if I remember right it was like that when we pulled it down from the wall. We used a Duplicator to inlet the stock then finished it off with Acraglass bedding. I think it was a old fajin stock like from the 50's or 60's.

    All the parts are old New old stock)except the trigger which I replaced in the 90's and the firing pin spring which is a wolff.


    This is an old school wood and steel 30-06 that really shoots well perfect for anything on this Continent and that is what I wanted.

    Like I said I hate to let it go but I hate to see a real hunting/shooting gun sitting in a safe doing nothing.

    My first 1903 was purchased the day I took my induction physical. It came from a surplus store just down the block from the induction center and was still in the original crate with others, packed in cosmo and unfired. $25 out the door.


    I liked the 1903 action and built a few rifles with them. One a full length stocked sportier using #2 fancy tiger striped Maple. The other I set up with a full 1&1/8" heavy barrel for target use. I put on a Davis scope (24X) and used it for long shots on Prairie dogs in South Dakota. It was a tack driver shooting 1/2" center to center groups at 100yds and did well on dogs well past 300 yds.


    Yours looks well done and should make a great hunting rifle for whoever buys it.
