makes you wonder..........
was out last week to pick berries, pulp and paper, thats the old name guess the new is Meade clear cut a big bowl next to our cabin a few years back. the hollow is crisscrossed with skidder roads and they took it down to the dirt when they cut. now it is just full of berries, there is clumps of blackberries 6-8 foot high the size of semi. well all you have to do is walk out these skidder roads and pick the berries that hang into the roads. I usually park the side by side at the head of the road and walk out and back. there may be 10-15 such roads in the hollow.
long story short my cousins grandson has a treestand and game camera up in the bottom of this hollow he hunts from. I saw a cousin of mine yesterday and he showed me some pictures from his grandsons game camera, a large mama blackbear she went a good 250lbs and three cubs all of which were about knee high.
got me wondering just what those noises were that were breaking brush up and down the side of that hill the day I was picking berries, and I was standing there with only a 38 derringer. I know the rest of those berries she can have, I don't need them that bad.

something like that happened to me several years ago.
I was about a third of the way in a very large berry bush, probably 40 ' in diameter when I hear a noise about mid way. I stopped moving and listened. didn't hear nothing. started picking again and the noise was closer. I started backing out. when I finally got loose from the briers I looked and there was a skunk about 4' from me
if I want berries now I just buy them0 -
Have to go out and cut back some black berries on my drive. Otherwise if I try to ride my Motorcycle out they could grab me and yank me off the bike.
Them things grow fast.
This weekend is the Black berry Jam.
