I ran into a few CG dudes In Iraq. They were down in Basra keeping the port safe.
Not many folks know the CG is all over the world conducting security and safety patrols.
I like the M9. I have has to use several handguns in combat and the M9 served me well. The G19, M11, M1911a1 and some other were available but I had no problem with the M9.
They are smooth and shoot well. Keep the mags clean and they run 100%.
On the other hand if I had to carry a handgun I was either riding or flying to the fight. If I was walking I would rather have 2 more Mags for my rifle or a Grenade[;)]0 -

I was never a Pistol Expert till the M9 came out. Got expert the very 1st time firing it and every year after. The old 45 1911's were just too worn out.0 -

I have shot many 1911's that were worn out. It is rather depressing to not be able to hit the target.
On the other hand, it is a pure pleasure to shoot a 1911 that will hit where you aim. I have a few of those in The Collection.0 -

Yep, never was issued an accurate one.
However, I did purchase a nice Colt M-1911 A1 National Match (manufactured in 1943) for The Collection. It will hit where you aim it. [8D]0 -
That is purty. I suspect it will take 15 round mags, and the newer 17s too. 0
