A Great Dumpster Find

I found a barber chair that works like new. The base has chrome coming off and the seat needs reupholstering really bad.

I love the chair. When i am working on my workbench i can raise or lower it as i want or need.

    One man's trash is another man's treasure!
    I don't typically go through dumpsters but I do look around for whatever is on top. Once I found 6 boxes of ammo; mostly .38 and .357, with a box of .221 Fireball! Still have the .221; I may get one yet. Figured someone died and his widow just tossed the ammo in the trash.

    i find a lot of yard equipment, especially in the spring, sitting on the side of the road. usually easily fixed with few parts. use this for my gun money.

    Visgt the dumpsters for Pawn shops all the time. Mostly trash but a few goodies>

    No guns but found, many pistol and shotguns boxes, plus a box of rust magazines for Colt 45's. Good Cleaning and Bead blasting. Re blued $$$.

    When I was stationed at Ft. Richardson there were near weekly reports of Anchorage homeless being killed during the winter. Trash crews even banged on the dumpsters with clubs/pipes, but they still had fatalities.

    My first 1911 came from the back of a garbage truck. The guy retrieved it but not before the slide was damaged. Found some nickel plated .45acp ammo along with it.


    It was thrown away by a widow cleaning out her departed husbands junk. A WW2 vintage Remington in pristine condition. I paid the guy $25 for it and bought a slide for it . I wonder what else she threw away.
