With much of the state being so dry, researchers said the insects are in search of water they can?t find in the wild.

Horticulturists said even though they can be seen as pests, they do feed on bugs like caterpillars that could damage your garden.

"Despite their annoyance -- despite their painful sting -- they actually are considered a beneficial insect in our environment,? said Ryan Woolverton, a garden purchaser with Down to Earth. ?So, for instance, they do eat a lot of garden pests that people struggle with anyways using pesticides to combat those garden pests.?

If you find a nest that?s out of the way, they?ll leave in the fall, so you may want to leave it alone.

For those who do want to keep wasps away, Woolverton said to clear any open water or food sources, like bird baths or open trash cans. If that doesn?t work, try wasp traps or insecticidal soap spray.

    Getting real tired of them they are not letting me out of the house.

    I keep emptying the traps they keep filling them up and still when ever I go out I have them around me everywhere.

    reach for a tool have to 1st get the yellowjackets to get off of it. They stay right in your face to distracting you so others can get to you.

    Took almost 2 hours to change my headlight bulbs to led. Had to leave every once in a while cause they would get to aggressive.

    Find their hive and pour in 8 ounces of gasoline. And light it up with your Bic lighter.
    Boy does that make 'em howl!

    It's starting to sound like you have a big nest somewhere. Might want to see your county extension agent. You could stress that something like this presents a health hazard.

    Yep, you are too sweet. They will also attract to sweet smell, like aftershave, etc. If you will not take a bath or shower for couple days and eat big pot of beans so as to produce a green gas they will do a fast re-treat when they see you come outside.[;)]

    Have to add where dark colored cloths. I just realized that I was wearing bright red yesterday. Back to Black.
