Lack of LEO response to antifa types????
I actually kind of get it. Who wants to do something that could ruin your life?? Knowing that if you touch one of these communist oxygen wasters, your butt could be tied up in lawsuits for years to come, why would you rush to the scene?? Your life ruined over a messed up door?? I don't think anything sort of really bad violence would be worth responding to. I really do get it.
How many of you city type LEOs work for departments that would hang your butts out to slowly twist in the wind the moment the lawsuits start rolling in??

Plenty...now and recently retired from those crapholes. Bmore is losing an average of 30 and up to 100 a month, primarily because of this kind of crap. I hear other major metro departments are in the same boat. Replacement recruits are few and far between with no relief on the horizon. The citizens who pay their taxes and just want to live and work in safety and peace are the real victims in this mess. 0 -
When you start throttling the scumbag lawyers who not only get the perps off, then receive huge financial gain, then you will see change.
Follow the money. It would work for immigration too. Cut the money and there is little to no incentive to continue.

...maybe not a "legal obligation" to protect, but, when you raise your hand and take the oath to protect and serve, I firmly believe one makes a commitment that is a strong "moral obligation". This is/has been my personal feeling through out my career not only in Bmore but also in my current position. I will agree however, that today's political climate (insane consent decrees, etc, that pander to the thugs), especially in large urban areas, definitely gives one pause before moving forward into a situation. 0 -
First point...ANTIFA is only active in liberal run cities...
Second point...Cops in liberals run cities already know not to go out of their way cuz the daily op is to get hung out to dry

The oath is only as good as the character of the man...
Every public official takes the oath, they either do not understand it or never intended to honor it.
If the general population would start putting the screws to the politicians in violation, we may see change. But I am not aware of any official ever being reprimanded, fined or fired for breaking their oath.0 -
Perhaps not, but some of us take personal pride in upholding ours regardless of the situation at hand despite others who may choose to refrain from doing so. 0 -

Reason number one- Police versus Sheriffs. These are happening in cities where the head of law enforcement is appointed by the mayor, and is little more than a cronie.
A Sheriff is elected and can tell any other elected official to pound sand If they try to tell him what to do. Most of the most problematic areas, you will find that an elected Sheriff has been replaced by a city-county merger, which is never good.
San Francisco has an elected Sheriff with no police force- just a jail to run, and court security. Now you know why that place is so screwed.
Just observe these things in the future wth this knew insight and it will be clearer. Is it surprising to see a Chief blather about gun control and ?don?t take the law into your own hands? crap, while a Sheriff will hold a press conference and say ?if you are a hot-head and confront another driver, you might get your ass shot?.
