Sigh, Condition One it is

I always carried my CC gun in condition 3 since I'm not a big fan of putting a round through my leg by accident. But after seeing a lot of utube vids and reading self defense articles, I decided that if I carry, it should be in condition one.

Sure, I can pull and rack my gun almost as fast as pulling and clicking the safety off as long as I have both hands free, but it all came down to what if I'm using one hand to block the attacker? Then I wouldn't be able to rack my gun and it would just become an expensive hammer. If you carry, then it should be ready to use, so condition one it is. I just pray I don't shoot my own leg.

    Seriously if you carry a SA Auto it should be in condition 1.

    You holster should cover the trigger too.

    I carried a Detonics Combat Master for years and it doesn't have a grip safety. I carried condition 1 in a shoulder holster 90% of the time. I had a hip holster but I rode a Motorcycle most of the time and its hard to CC on the hip.

    I'm glad to see you wised up. In a close altercation situation a firearm that is not in condition 1 is at best only an expensive hammer. What happens if they take it away from you and shoot you with it?

    I don't see much difference in relying on a safety with a holstered firearm than carrying a Glock or other firearm without a safety. You still have to pull the trigger.

    I wouldn't carry a firearm for defense that had a light trigger and if you don't practice drawing from concealment, removing the safety and presenting the firearm don't even bother to carry.

    A lot of people have firearms, very few practice. How many times has someone forgotten in the heat of the moment to remove the safety?

    Well, honestly, if they take it away from me I'd rather it be in condition 4 [:D]
