Questions for the Colt guys.
I have an Officers Model Target. At least that's what it says on the barrel. But the barrel is the "Heavy Barrel" contour and that wasn't available until 1935. According to the serial number the frame was made in 1909. I always assumed a previous owner swapped barrels (also been refinished).
However, the revolver has some very deluxe features like fine checkering on the cylinder release and trigger face. I am wondering if this might have started out as a Shooting Master which I think was similar to the OMT but more deluxe. Or did the early OMTs have the fine checkering on these parts? Thoughts?
