Great things about College Football Bowl Games

Refreshing to see the passion of the players going for the love of the game. The cheerleaders in thier college modest dress doing the old standards. The bands playing familiar go tunes. Twirlers and fans that are sincere in love for thier team.

Looking forward to the East West Shriners Classic where these player get to share not only skill but true emotion for the game but for the fellowship among players and Seniors moving on.

    Two years ago my now 19 year old son got to play in the north/south all star game as a senior in HS. This game was for the private schools in here in S.C. (Dad was a little bit proud!!!!!). I told him the other line backer signed D-1 and was much better known. I told Uri the first, maybe the second play of the game will be their big stud running back coming right at you. Yup. Old Dad was right. No gain, loss of a yard. Than they decided to try the other LB. Loss of 2 or 3. Punt. At that point both LBs could have brought out lounge chairs and laid in them with a couple of them drinks with them little umbrellas in them.[:D] The other team ran sweeps and passed the rest of the game.

    Sitting in the stands with the other parents was a blessing. These parents all had their kids in private, mostly Christian schools. Great well mannered kids on both sides of the ball, nice respectful parents in the stands. Football and all sports are meant to be played like this. As I said, a true blessing!!

    Totally agree! I truly enjoy the games and the conversations about them.

    Well, college football isn't all about altruism. The players are getting a free college degree, if not being paid. And they all have their eye on the NFL draft and know that the scouts are watching. There is nothing about sports that is for love of the sport anymore.

    That's why I don't watch any sports anymore. I figure my not supporting them is hopefully costing them a penny or two [:)]
