9. They are allergic to fresh air.
10. Their pajamas get caught on the exhaust pipes.
11. They might get their hands dirty checking the oil.
12. The handle bars have buttons and levers and cannot be controlled by touch-screen.
13. You have to shift manually and use something called a clutch.
14. It's too hard to take selfies while riding.
15. They don't come with training wheels like their bicycles did.
16. Motorcycles don't have power steering or power brakes.
17. Their nose ring interferes with the face shield.
18. They would have to use leg muscle to back up.
19. When they stop, a light breeze might blow exhaust in their face.
20 It could rain on them and expose them to non-soft water.
21. It might scare their therapy dog, and then the dog would need therapy.0 -

Maybe they should make Vespa looking scooters that runs on electricity and make a Harley motor noise over the speakers. Also a side car big enough for a person. So they can't cut lanes [:D]. 0 -

I get a laugh out of the people that make it a point to talk a line of poop on Harleys. Always talking about how much better other brands are, and especially how much faster they are, as if the comparison is even necessary.
Meanwhile, Harleys have been doing exactly what they were intended to do all along; cruise, and sound good doing it.

Yep...bought a used 04 Lowrider Custom, didn't really like it so I sold it a couple months later in a week for $1500 more than I paid for it.0 -

BTW Had a '78 BMW airhead and it was a rock. Great bike. I don't do whistles and bell$, but would whoop that BMW 6 cyl tourer in a heartbeat. I wouldn't buy one though. BMW'$ are great- if you can do the work your$elf.

Harley is another one of those companies that has almost killed itself,,Back 15/20 years ago when all the Yuppies were in the Harley crazy buying bikes and clothing Harley kept production down and prices high.. I personally know 2 guys that ordered bikes and had to wait 16 months to get them. Now the craze is over,,the used markey
t,,at least here,,is flooded with extremely low mileage used bikes for sale,,I looked at 2006 anniversary super glide yesterday that has 8000 original miles for $7500 and last week checked out a 2007 road king classic with 5000 miles on it asking $11,000,, I offered him 9000 and he turned me down then sold it this week for $9200. MOST bike guys are not going to spend the price of a new one when a like new used one can be had at 1/4 the price0 -

I don't know about your assumption. This year at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, seemed like new/current year Harleys were everywhere.

You are looking at a fraction of the market at Sturgis...and you can bet alot of new harley bikes will be there, being shown off. that's not likely a realistic gauge of over all bike sales.0 -

I've made a few dollars off the yuppies dusty garage candy. My daily driver was 4 years old with 1400 miles from a Ct wannabe.
The 06 anniversary SG is a fav. The 71 more so.

I saw a dealership that had a row of used bikes called Sturgis Specials because they were trailered to Sturgis, ridden there, trailered back and sold.
That yuppie segment is still very much alive. You see thousands of &100,000 toy haulers there now loaded with bikes and golf carts. Sturgis has changed, it is becoming more of a fancy KOA with the wealthy and upper middle class taking over. The loaded biles with tents and gear are getting fewer while the rise of trailered/hauled bikes are getting more common. Harley is selling a lot of bikes to the RVers and fewer to the actuall riders. The last new bike I looked at cost more than my Ram 1500 did new, can you explain how a bike that is basicaly the same bike as 20 years ago is now worth $30K? Who is buying those? The majority are going to the weekend warriors and RVers, not too many regular guys buying those bikes at those prices.0 -

I took the Softail to key West Fla.
BOTH did their job very well.0
