Thought you'd seen everything? WW2 twin .50

WW2 Ball Turret with twin .50 cals at the Big Sandy Shoot firing full auto,, for as long as you can afford to hold the trigger down. [:D]

Turret was acquired "many years ago" as New Government Surplus. Turret is a fully functional rental. Hop in and give it a whirl. Round and Around, up and down, a new twist to fun at the range.

    The one MG shoot I attended featured some lunatic with a 1943 GMC Deuce and a Half with quad 50s mounted on it. He touched that thing off for a 5 second burst and the ground shook 200 feet away.

    fordsix- The one I saw had the seat. Gun was on a rotating mount. Maybe a naval gun set up on a truck?

    Never thought being in a turret with mega noise was fun.

    I have only 60% hearing due to twin 50s and 20mm s.

    Seems like a total waste of money... IMO.

    ..Looks like fun to me. I'm half deaf anyway. In Korea, my uncle
    was a Major and had command of a bunch of trucks with quad .50's,
    twin 20mm's and twin 40mm's. They were supposed to be an anti-
    aircraft unit but since there were few planes to shoot at, they
    were deployed as ground support indirect fire.

    ..A quote from my uncle in the newspaper: "They sent us here to
    kill Chinese and we're killing a hell of a lot of them."...[:D]

    I lost some of my hearing sitting between four 50 caliber machine guns during the Korean war. Also behind a recoiless rifle in the late 50s at Fort Benning GA.

    Wouldn't want to be too close behind a recoiless rifle!
    That ball turret with the twin .50s looks like fun. No bump-stocks on those babies!
