The search for a Seattle woman who has been missing for more than three weeks after going on a solo hike in Washington has been suspended.

'We have exhausted all leads and tips,' Sergeant John Adams of the Snohomish County sheriff's Search and Rescue unit told Seattle's Q13 FOX.

Samantha Sayer's family and friends celebrated her 29th birthday on Monday August 13 by visiting Vesper Peak, where she was last seen, and say they're not giving up.

'Samantha's still alive. Period,' her mother Lisa said over an emotional plea she posted over Facebook.

'If it was your daughter that went missing, would you stop and give up? No you wouldn't. You'd go to the ends of the earth to find her.'

'I'm not going to stop until my little girl is home safe.'

The 29-year old has been missing for 23 days.

She vanished on August 1 after embarking on a hike of the Vesper Peak trail in the North Cascades mountains.

Her boyfriend Kevin Dares says she had lunch with an unidentified male before she disappeared



That is a rugged and heavily forested area.

    Green River Killer's been caught, right? I wonder if she's a forced bride of a mountain man? What was that movie from the '70s about a nutter son who kidnaped a girl and a mountain man dad took issues about it? There was a sequel to that, too.

    *Almost forgot about my guess. Boyfriend who was dumped. Trying to blame a drifter. Only thing missing about the drifter was dude was black.

    I sincerely hope that was not a Selfie from her Solo hike, prior to going missing.

    I've done a lot of Solo hiking in backcountry areas around the Country. Sketchy for a guy, not very smart for a young attractive female.

    I wish her well, but I doubt this will turn out well.

    Ten years ago a good looking college girl went for a day hike in the N. Georgia mountains with her dog. She disappeared.

    A week later, right in my old neighborhood in Atlanta in the front lot of the Winn Dixie where I worked as a bag boy in 1968, somebody spotted a guy rinsing out an old van at the carwash. Called the cops, it was a 62 year old Psycho who had kidnapped and murdered the girl.

    And her body was found about 10 miles from the house where my parents live in the N. Georgia mountains.

    These girls gonna go out hiking by themselves, they need to have a can of pepper spray in their hand. That girl in Iowa could have used a can of pepper spray.

    Yep, that hiker has gone the same route as the Iowa girl.
    The incident Allen mentions was by serial killer Gary Hilton. Crazy but very intelligent and well-spoken. There is an interrogation video on youtube with him which is interesting.
