What was your best GB auction purchase?
I have made many good deals. My BSA 22 Martini for $165...
My 38 Combat Masterpiece (in back) for $135...
But my best ever was this 1969 S&W Model 14-3 that I bagged for the starting price of $100. Yeah, it shows some holster wear and I had to refinish the stocks, but it was $100. Tell me you wouldn't buy it. Actually, nobody else tried to buy it. Mine was the only bid.

This is not my best gun but i bought a 380 from a private person and he said he would throw in a box of bullets.
Well he threw them in the box with the pistol and the gun was loaded. It also happened to not have a regular safety.
My friend is my ffl and was beyond pisssed. He had a vein popping in and out.[V]0 -

Bought a Cobb MCR in 30-06 (one of the 100 produced in 2006 for the 100th anniversary) for, IIRC, $ 500.00 to $ 1,000.00 under MSRP.
It is a tack driver, and a fun rifle to shoot.

On thinking about it, I would have to say my Winchester 1897 pump. Made in 1920. Professionally Hot Blued and new Boyds Mahogany stock and foregrip. Ruined the collector value, but the gun looks and functions like a new gun. I love it. I believe I paid in the neighborhood of $350 for it.

It's really difficult to say which GB purchase I've made was the best. I started collecting at a late age, say early-50's, and tried to budget myself ever since then, oftentimes without much luck, but always with an aim toward condition, rarity, and originality to a great extent. With this in mind, special sights are one of these three critical areas. So, here are two of them that I have posted pictures of on this forum in the past. The first is a Winchester 94 SRC carbine, and the second is a Winchester 75 in high condition, with an exceedingly rare Malcolm scope model considering its condition, with ultra rare, case colored Malcolm scope bases and mounts. BTW, the Winchester 75 also came with a factory leather sling: 0 -

I have really scored on all types of barrels, scope rings, sights, optics, spare parts & accessories over the years. Too many good deals on reloading equipment to list.

My best buys on GB I guess have been ammunition. I've bought a few mixed bulk lots off of individuals liquidating there store on ammo.
.454c, .243, 300wsm that I can remember and the .375 H&H rifle with the ammunition was a good buy.0 -
You just had to remind me of that one. I was watching it hard and going to bid on it but put it off until last day to bid. Then that day, I had something come up and it slipped my mind. Needless to say, I was irritated with myself. Learned right then to bid my maximum amount early.

My best purchase on GunBroker was one that I didn't make! [:D] A Colt Single Action Army shipped in 1892.
It was on GunBroker for $5000+ in early 2009, if I remember correctly. I watched it for several auction cycles and no one bid on it. The seller lowered the starting price, but I wasn't able to get back to the auction and it sold; DANG!!!! Several months later I went to a Gun Show up in Dallas and it was on the table of a collector friend of mine who bought it in Tulsa from the GunBroker buyer; we negotiated and I bought it for $4200. When I lettered the gun it showed a Ship To, but no location. After a bunch of research I determined that Colt had misspelled the name of the Hardware Store (one letter too many) that it was shipped to and was able to determine exactly where it shipped. I sent my research to the Colt Historian and they agreed, updated the letter at no cost, and sent me a new letter.
The updated letter showing shipment to a historic location was worth an extra $3500 when I sold the Colt in 2015. [:)]0 -

A Left Hand 300 Weatherby Euromark with letter of providence from Craig Boddington, along with some pictures of his leopard and a couple other animals taken with it.
This may have been the first Weatherby Euromark in the country and since it was going to a big name writer, it has far far better wood than a normal rifle.
I literally stole this rifle from Toad67 at a pittance of its worth, even if it hadn?t had the letter and exceptional wood.
2nd best, In 99, I bought a like new fired 5 times Freedom Arms model 83 454 Casull for $700 as after rounds the original owner decided he really didn?t care for the ?bite of it?, and no one else bid on it.

I bought a enhanced Springfield m1a like new
I wanted a M!A for years but the price just kept me away ( actually lack of money [:0] )
then I saved up , pulled up my big boy paints bit the bullet and was in the process of ordering a new one just a plan Jane model from my
FFL buddy at cost . and one on GB came up just a couple days from ordering the new one , and 300.00 less but it was the upgraded version , and would pass as a new one .
as for a new gun it was a springfield XDS just after they came out it was a 165.00 less than the local GS and that was with shipping and ffl cost included (not counting the tax the local shop would have charged,) I tried hard to work with the local shop they would not budge a dollar so the dealer on GB got my money

About 10-12 years back I bought a Ruger 22/45 SS that the original owner's dog had gnawed on a little causing surface damage to the polymer frame. I filed off the worst rough edges and have used it as a beater, trap line, and chore gun since. Something like $100 and it's never failed me. 0 -
Got a NIB Heritage .22 revolver for $75.
A police trade-in Sig 226 in .40 for $275. (I had bought one the year before for $400.)
A Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 at $225. It had almost no finish but had been fired very little. Accurate and locks up tight as a vault.
My WORST deal was misreading a listing and buying 100 rounds of 7 mm Mag ammo when I thought I was getting 200 rounds. $40 a box, delivered. Oh, well, my mistake. I use this ammo to shoot tannerite at 100 yards.
Also, all my gun purchases have- with shipping and FFL fee- $50 tacked on before they get in my hot little hands. So the Heritage was actually $125, the Sig $325, etc.0
